Melissa and I met up for a sunset family session at Fleming College and all I can say is [insert angels singing here].
Sunset sessions are the way to go if you have children old enough to still have some smiles at this hour, and lucky for me this family sure did! The sunset gives this great soft, golden light which looks so gorgeous diffusing through the trees and fields. As a photographer I always try my best to avoid direct sunlight at any time of day; but working at sunset gives us so many options in terms of location scouting because we aren’t limited to shady spots. (Added bonus- no squinting!!) .
We took advantage of all the fun textures and spaces in behind the Fleming College campus in Lindsay which not only looks great in the images, but also gets the thumbs up from kids as they love to explore. We checked out the community garden, grass fields (you know I love me a good field) and the outdoor buildings. All my family sessions are focused around this type of flow– we walk, chat, laugh and explore because as you can see… they love it! We get real emotions, real laughs and I get a chance to capture how your family interacts.
Melissa is such a beautiful woman– she has one of those smiles that make me smile. She loves her kids so fiercely, and it shows. And these kids, geez did they ever make my job easy– they were SOOO easy to photograph! Thanks Melissa for all your kind words and support, I am so honoured to capture this moment in time!
