Everything about this day was intimate in nature yet grand in love during this beautiful backyard barn wedding. Gena + Alex shared in an intimate wedding ceremony with their daughter followed by a casual celebration back at the barn with their family + friends. While so many weddings follow a similar timelines of events, even being a photographer it still amazes me to see how every one is so uniquely individual. I love and admire how Gena + Alex just decided to do what really reflected them, and it showed in all the details, smiles and of course, images of their day.
I fell instantly in love with Gena’s dress (kinda like that you had me at Hello moment ;0) , in combination with her romantic bouquet of flowers it was just so truly stunning against the backdrop of their day. The whole week leading up to the big day the forecast showed for rain. Future brides and friends take a lesson from this because Gena refused to let it get to her, she was so calm and okay with whatever mother nature was going to do- why sweat it when you can’t change it! While I realize that outdoor weddings and rain don’t always mix according to the plan, however embracing it the way this amazing couple did by putting their focus on the people they love, their connection and just making sure everyone had a great time is truly what made their day so special. And hey- we lucked out because in the end the only portion of the day that truly rained was during the indoor church ceremony and the overcast skies made for an amazing backdrop during our session.
