When a couple that wants to do their engagement session in a canoe on Emily Creek near Bobcaygeon, you say HECK YES!! Can you believe that these two built this beautifully handcrafted canoe together?? Talent!! Julie and Ian are a fun, outdoorsy couple, up for any adventure that comes their way. From hunting, to skiing in Austria, to fishing, to sea-doo’ing, to out back camping in Algonquin, to both Mexico and Florida, and playing baseball together, these two do it ALL!
Spending an afternoon photographing these two on Emily Creek and later their family property was SO much fun, and of course, filled with so many laughs! Living in the Kawarthas, we are so incredibly lucky to be surrounded all these beautiful bodies of water, not to mention this one by Bobcaygeon. The backdrop for our session was truly magical- the willow trees and serene creek filled with childhood memories for Julie growing up fishing here.
For those who don’t know Julie, her laugh and smile are contagious; a true gem to be around. Ian went along with all our antics that afternoon without complaint, and just for that, I know that he and Julie are a perfect match. I’m lucky to call Julie my friend, and since Ian walked into her life it is without a doubt in my mind that she has found her soul mate. I can’t wait see what new adventures this next chapter has in store for you two, whatever it is, I know it will be great.
